Who’s afraid of the Big Bad (Grey) Wolf?
Posted by Grand Méchant Loup in DM Nazi Story of the Week, News, Sophistry Corner on October 17, 2011
Yep, it’s another Daily Mail Nazi (for that, read Adolf Hitler) story. I keep joking about articles placing the Führer in Latin America, and it appears that the folks at the DM have been reading my requests. Hurrah! Read the rest of this entry »
Jumping the gun…
Posted by Grand Méchant Loup in News, Social Discourse on July 26, 2011
It has been a bit of a while since my last post – not that there hasn’t been plenty of things to potentially write about. However I felt I had to shake myself out of my slumber to write something on the recent tragedy in Camden Square Norway, and the madness of gunman Anders Behring Breivik. Daily Mail Story of the Week: But is it Art?
Posted by Grand Méchant Loup in DM Nazi Story of the Week on April 6, 2011
It’s incredibly hard keeping up with the Daily Mail and their stories about Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. I am convinced that if I were to analyse every story like that over the last couple of years alone, I could write a pretty hefty book about it. Of course, the book would itself generate its very own lurid Daily Mail headline – it’s enough to make one’s head implode. Read the rest of this entry »
And that, meine Freunde, is the hat-trick.

Or should I say cat-trick… Yawn.
Yes, having made a very small allusion to this the other day whilst commenting on the silly “Hitler House” story, the good old Daily Mail delivers… By devoting an entire article to… Yes, cats that look like Hitler! You heard that right, folks – the hacks at the Britain’s most mockable tabloid have finally “discovered” the long-running website devoted to these feline Führers! Read the rest of this entry »
Two in two days.

OK, I couldn’t help myself with writing about this one – a story of German troops during the Second World War being provided with the stimulant Pervitin to keep them alert. Not a new story to those of us who have studied this period, but apparently breaking news to the hacks at the Daily Mail who see it as one more opportunity to shoehorn Adolf Hitler into yet another ridiculous headline. Daily Mail Nazi Story of the Week… The silliest one ever.
Posted by Grand Méchant Loup in DM Nazi Story of the Week on March 29, 2011
It’s been a bit of a while since my last Daily Mail Story of the Week – so long a while that the feature should perhaps be renamed Daily Mail Nazi Story of the six weeks and five days. Give or take a few days. This is not for the lack of silly stories about the Nazis and Adolf Hitler in the DM, but the fact that there have been simply too many to comment about. Even I have been suffering from Silly Hitler Story Fatigue (SHSF). Read the rest of this entry »

Following on from my previous post on the Führer Quartett card game, I received mine in the post today. Wonderfully packaged, delivered in good time with perfect Teutonic efficiency. Thanks to all at Onkel & Onkel in Berlin. Read the rest of this entry »
Hitler: The man who just keeps on giving
Posted by Grand Méchant Loup in Everyday, Social Discourse on February 9, 2011
OK, there have been so many Nazi stories being churned out that I have started to believe that it is just too much to write something every time I see an article on the man. Advertising stories, East Asian marketing tactics, civil servants in fancy dress, saluting dogs, Adolf Hitler’s sudden appearance on a slice of toast or hot cross bun – the list is almost endless. The Führer must be laughing from the grave: sixty-six years after his death, he is truly the man who just keeps on giving. Read the rest of this entry »
Work experience journalism
Posted by Grand Méchant Loup in News on July 21, 2010
Much has been said about the journalistic profession, and how the quality of both writing and research has plummeted ever since online media started to outflank the printed press. While more scurrilous types could always be found in the murky offices of the red tops, much of what you found in the so-called quality press was for the most part well written and – perhaps more crucially – competently researched. DM Nazi Bollywood Story of the Week
Posted by Grand Méchant Loup in DM Nazi Story of the Week, News on June 9, 2010
Has it really been a week since my last blog? There has been plenty of things to talk about, but I have been pretty busy… And more than just a little bit lazy as well. So what better to bring backs to life than a Daily Mail Nazi Story of the Week, albeit one with a slightly different and rather exotic twist? Read the rest of this entry »
