The fat lady is oiling her vocal chords...

The Gorgon is gone. The hangover is over. Let the party begin. Well, sort of.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown has this evening decided that enough is enough, and has now officially resigned. Which means we can finally give him a hearty wave goodbye. Janus-faced harlots

Lunchtime, blogtime.

First they were in with the Conservatives. Then they tried to crawl under the sheets and cosy up to the Labour Party. First they were saying that they would work with the party that obtained the most votes. Then they started talking to the battered losers and their discredited Prime Minister. Like the infamous traitor and villian Brutus, Prime Minister Gordon Brown has played his latest desperate hand and fallen on his sword. Secure in the knowledge that Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg would never have worked in and for a Government under his leadership, he has effectively laid bare his party’s naked desire to secure an alliance between them and the Lib Dems. The recent election campaign was something of a roller coaster for the Liberal Democrats and their leader Nick Clegg. First they shot up in the opinion polls and seemingly established themselves as a potential competitor to the big two, only to blow it comprehensively when the time came for the British people to go to the polls.
