Its president described poor old Paul the Octopus as a “symbol of decadence and decay”, and now its Olympic committee have suggested that the logo for the London 2012 games spells the word “Zion”. Yes, it’s our friends from Eye-ran again. I suppose one could see where they are coming from, though only if one were to consume the same blend of exotic herbs as the designer had when he found the inspiration to create this monstrosity. There are so many twits out there, but Mahmoud Ahmedinejad stands head and shoulders above everyone else this week. With nothing better or more important to talk about, the Iranian leader laid in to poor old Paul the Octopus, claiming that tentacled football sage is a symbol of “decadence and decay” among his “enemies”.
